MAORA CERAMIC

Valencia, Spain
60 m2

Maora’s new showroom in Valencia is conceived around the concept Fragments of Tradition, a narrative that explores the dialogue between heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Located within a historic building in the heart of Valencia’s old town, the project reveals the different layers of the space while celebrating the artisanal ceramic production that defines Maora’s identity.

Ceramics take centre stage throughout the showroom. The floor combines unglazed terracotta pieces with glazed ceramic lines, creating a landscape that references the raw origins of the craft.

The design embraces the existing architecture and transforms its imperfections into defining features. The inclined walls, a unique characteristic of the original structure, become visual traces of time, creating a spatial experience where history and contemporary intervention coexist naturally.

Meanwhile, the walls become curated displays where ceramic pieces of different formats, textures and finishes are presented as fragments discovered within the building itself.

A palette of warm terracotta tones and soft beiges establishes a calm and neutral environment, allowing the richness of the handcrafted ceramics to emerge. Rather than competing with the products, the interior acts as a backdrop that highlights the colours, materials and details of each collection.

The project reflects a complete immersion into Maora’s universe, creating a showroom that functions both as an exhibition space and as a physical expression of the company’s values. Tradition is not presented as something static, but as a living heritage that can be continuously reinterpreted through contemporary design.
